More than enough snow on Oundle Ski Trip

On the 10 December, after an overnight coach journey through France, a group of Oundle School pupils arrived in Courmayeur where there was a tremendous amount of snow!

More than Enough Snow on Oundle Skip Trip

Oundle School pupils: more than happy with the extra helping of snow!

Pupil, Hope Dillarstone (12) commented, “Our hotel was really good and we had such a lovely helper throughout our week called Sarah. Our instructors were also really nice and helped us develop our skiing skills and techniques. It was my first time skiing and I really enjoyed myself.”

Over the course of the week it snowed a lot – so much so that sometimes the pupils were unable to ski because the snow was so thick!

Hope added, “We had lots of fun après ski activities to enjoy in the evenings including ice skating, a pizza night and swimming. On the last day the snow was so deep that we were not able to go skiing but instead made ice sculptures which I really enjoyed. The ski trip was one of the best trips I have been on and I was sad to leave the snowy resort. Thank you to all the teachers who looked after us. “

Trip Organiser, Dr Walter Holmstrom concluded, “The trip is run every two years at this time and sufficient snow can be an issue. The week before we left the slopes were still green but by the time we got there it had started to fall and by the end of the week there was close to two metres at the top of the resort providing more than enough snow for everyone from beginners to experienced powder-hounds. I really don’t remember a snowfall like it.”
