Girls, parents and VIPs attending the Queen’s School in Chester for the annual prize giving were treated to a real insight into the world of Olympic heroes.
Dr Alison Mowbray told her story, giving some of her key life lessons along the way. She quoted Winston Churchill: “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” And encouraged the girls to consider every day: “What one thing can I do better today than I did yesterday?”
Sarah Clark, Headmistress, said: “After topping the Independent Schools Chart for A and AS level results for Cheshire over the summer, the Prize Giving allows us the chance to focus on the individuals who achieved those excellent results at A and AS level and in the GCSEs too. Every girl will find something she excels at Queen’s School and that’s what we want to do, bring out their best and recognise it. There is always something to challenge, innovate, involve and inspire! 93 awards and prizes were given on the night, in addition to the certificates presented. Congratulations and well done all.”
